DotA Allstars is a variant of the custom map Defense of the Ancients for Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne. It is a team strategy game focused on hero combat. The objective is to destroy the opponents' base using one's own hero along with allied heroes and allied AI-controlled fighters called "creeps". The most recent version is 6.43b.
Each player controls a single hero, which is a powerful unit with unique abilities. Players choose one of the eighty-two heroes available between the two teams, as of version 6.42. DotA allows for a maximum of ten players in a five versus five format and an additional two slots for referees or observers, and games are usually played with even numbers of players on each side. Along with his or her teammates, a player fights alongside one of the two battling computer-controlled powers—the Sentinel and the Scourge, which are thematically represented as good and evil, respectively. Each team has a computer-controlled base on opposing corners of the map. The objective of the game is to breach the other team's defensive base towers and destroy their main structure (World Tree if one is affiliated with the Sentinel side or Frozen Throne if one is affiliated with the Scourge). The towers act as fortresses and are very important to the game, as they must be destroyed in order to reach the main base.
As Dota Allstars gameplay revolves around the use of individual heroes, it does not require one to focus on resource management and base-building, which is common in traditional Real-time strategy games. Instead, a player's attention is focused on their hero, and their time is devoted to gaining experience by killing weak enemy units, gaining gold by getting the killing blow on these units, and skirmishing with the opposing heroes. The typical resource-gathering of Warcraft III is replaced by a combat-oriented money system. In addition to a small periodic gold income, heroes earn gold by killing creeps, base structures, and enemy heroes. With their gold, players buy items to strengthen their hero and gain additional abilities. Certain items can be combined along with 'recipes' to create more powerful items. Buying items to suit one's hero is an important tactical element of the game.
A typical DotA Allstars game lasts between thirty and ninety minutes, depending on the players' skill, their heroes and the game mode. The variety of game modes available dictate whether people can choose their own hero or be assigned one randomly, or can change the difficulty of the game. Additionally, game modes can be combined, leading to extremely flexible game rules.
Although there are heroes that have an edge over others, the game is designed with balance in mind and no invincible heroes. At times, or in certain line-ups, some heroes may appear imbalanced, either seeming too weak or too powerful. In most cases this only depends on the player's skill or the heroes that have been chosen, but when a hero is indeed too strong or too weak, the next version of the map will most likely address the issue. However, even a hero that seems underpowered to some players can incline the balance of the game through wise skill and item choices .

Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos (War3 or WC3) is a real-time strategy computer game released by Blizzard Entertainment in July 2002. It is the second sequel to Warcraft: Orcs & Humans, and the third game set in the Warcraft Universe. The game proved to be one of the most anticipated and popular computer game releases ever, with 4.5 million units preordered and over one million additional units sold during its first two weeks.[citation needed] Warcraft III contains four playable races, including the Humans and Orcs, which had previously appeared in Warcraft: Orcs & Humans and Warcraft II. In addition to these are the Night Elves and Undead, which are new to the Warcraft mythos. Warcraft III's campaign is laid out similarly to that of StarCraft, being told through all four of the game's races in a progressive manner.

My Personality
My name is Gan Zi Kang and my former primary school is Jing Shan Primary School. Current secondary school which is here, Catholic High. I like to play computer games during my free time and I usually spend the whole day playing. I like to listen to music while playing games as well. I would take a break from playing games and chat online as well. I am a easy going person and I talk a lot. I like to mingle with and make friends as well.
My Passion
I have a passion for gaming, gaming as in computer games. It seemed common as everyone has this habit for playing game but, they play it to kill time and have fun. I am different from them, I am a hardcore gamer. It all started when I was Primary four, when I got my first computer. Though it was not fast but, still useable. I bought my first computer game- Counterstrike. It is an exciting first person shooting game, bringing you to a scenario of a Counter- terrorist fighting against the terrorist forces. This game requires fast hand reflexes and reactions to achieve victory. I was hooked to this game immediately and I practiced nearly everyday, trying to master this game. I had fun playing this game for hours and hours, till I was promoted to Primary five. I stopped gaming and concentrated on my studies till the end of Primary six. The computer was too old for me when I was Secondary one and I changed a new computer. That computer was better and I found a massive multiplayer online role playing game known as Maplestory. Me and my classmates started playing together but it became a more competitive game compared to recreation gaming as there are levels in the game. I quitted the game around Term three of Secondary two as it started to become boring. I started engaging on the game Warcraft III and DOTA. Warcraft III is a war base strategy game which puts players into a fight between different races of beings consisting of the Orcs, Humans, Night Elves and the Undead. You will be in control of different units and armies, building structures and leading your race to victory. It is a rather addictive game and a match usually last about an hour. It is time consuming and requires great patience to master the game. There is a special thing about games that attracts me. The unique entertainment value they possess and I can feel how much effort the developers have put in.
Achievements
Although I am a hardcore gamer, I do no really take part in any competitions. I do have some achievements, but not in getting the trophies or anything. They are something more pleasurable to me. Through the process of gaming, I get to know some new friends. We often play together and had fun. I recently appealed to enter a local Counterstrike clan by the name of STORM. I hope to get into that clan and I need to train hard before arranging a series of tests with them to prove my ability and mastery of the game so they would let me in. I think that gaming and having fun is an important part and process of everyone’s life but we cannot rely on gaming to survive as well. Thus I wish to become a full time beta tester of new games being released into the market.
